DAVID BOWIE The Rise And Fall Of Ziggy Stardust And The Spiders From Mars (Very rare and highly sought after 1972 first UK pressing 11-track LP, with 'Titanic/Chrysalis' credit on the labels and the all important 1E/1E matrix numbers indicating a true first issue, complete with illustrated lyric inner, picture sleeve. This original pre-dates the Mainman contract & as such has no reference to Mainman anywhere on the sleeve or record label SF8287)

#Top 500 Greatest Albums Of All Timeetails on the background & condition of this rarity...

Tracklisting: Every track on Ziggy Stardust & The Spiders From Mars sounds like it was pulled from the rock 'n' roll bible. The album created a mythology that reached beyond the Chuck Berry folklorisms of the everyday rocker to create a new type of rockstar. With Ziggy, Bowie created a viable alter-ego to descend onto the planet and wreak havoc on rock's fertile soil and in doing so, he created the most original rock creation since the music's inception 20 years before. Musically, the album was as inspired as Ziggy's persona. Mick Ronson's snarling guitar evoked the triumphant power of the late '60s guitar heroes, but added a flash so dynamic fans knew why the Spiders were labelled 'glitter rockers'. History & Condition This first issue pre-dates the Mainman contract and as such there are NO Mainman references or logos anywhere on the sleeve or record label. There is a logo on the rear of the sleeve with the text 'A Gem Production' The matrix numbers in the run out groove are: BGBS 0864 -1E & BGBS 0865-1E The black & white lyric inner is in great condition and free of any seam splits. There is just a little light creasing evident & 1cm tear to the opening with one small patch of discolouration - it has obviously been well looked after over the years. The label is the original thick orange glossy RCA Victor label and is free of any spindle wear, marks or writing, whilst the vinyl itself is the thick & strong pressing, unlike many later pressings which used Dynaflex vinyl. Only a glimpse of spindle wear to the labels can be seen and the vinyl has just a couple of the faintest hairline scuffs, most likely from removal from the inner. The sleeve shows just a little light shelfwear and also grades Excellent. An all round superb copy of this genuine first pressing that is becoming increasingly hard to find Tracklisting :- 01. Five Years 02. Soul Love 03. Moonage Daydream 04. Starman 05. It Ain't Easy 06. Lady Stardust 07. Star 08. Hang on to Yourself 09. Ziggy Stardust 10. Suffragette City 11. Rock & Roll Suicide

DEEP PURPLE Made In Japan (5-CD & Blu-Ray Deluxe Anniversary Edition Box Set, part of the Deep Purple 50th Anniversary series, this special edition of Made in Japan celebrates one of the most iconic rock live albums ever recorded. Captured over three nights in Osaka and Tokyo in August 1972, the band's Mark II line-up delivered electrifying performances of career-defining tracks including "Smoke on the Water," "Highway Star," "Child in Time," and "Space Truckin'." For this edition, Steven Wilson has created an all-new stereo remix of the original album along with a Dolby Atmos mix for Blu-ray. The set also features the complete performances from all three nights, newly remixed by Richard Digby Smith, plus encores and single edits, all mastered by Andy Pearce. Housed inside a lift-off lid picture box with 40-page tour book, replica poster and hype sticker, factory sealed. Recommended)
