THE WHO Magic Bus (Very rare 1968 UK 7" vinyl single with wide centre and 'Promotional Copy - Not For Sale' stickered label. Also includes a fully autographed postcard, signed in period by Roger Daltrey, Keith Moon and Pete Townshend [blueball point pen] and John Entwhistle [black marker pen]. In '68 the Who hired a vintage bus and travelled around London [starting at Bayswater Road and ending up in the King's Road - where else!] to promote their new single. Promotional copiesof the single were given out to radio stations and reviewers with a fully signed postcard [and bus ticket attached!]. This one owner copy was given by the band to Stephen Laine an aspiring drummer/Soho based musician who auditioned for the band prior to Keith Moon joining and stayed in touch with them thereafter. Pleases see more information below)

Tracklisting: Information: On the 17th October 1968, Chris Stamp [The Who's manager], organised a tour of central London on a vintage bus to promote their new single 'The Magic Bus'. All band members were present alongside twelve girls, a baby lioness, and an assortment of other animals - what can we say, it was the '60s! The journey started at Bayswater Road and finished in the King's Road. It is not known if the promotional single was given out en route or issued simultaneously to radio stations, reviewers etc. We do know that there are very few surviving examples as they seldom appear for sale [just a handful of recorded sales online]. Condition: Side A: Strictly graded Very Good as there are some scuffs/light hairlines visible. Playtesting reveals a great sounding record with very minimal background noise. Side B: Strictly graded Very Good. There are some scuffs and hairlines visible, with one paper scuff more visible than others. Playtesting reveals little to no effect on playback.
