VELVET UNDERGROUND The Velvet Underground & Nico (Very rare and essential 1967 US first issue East Coast press blue & silver Verve label 11-track MONO LP, housed in the legendary Andy Warhol pasted gatefold sleeve with unpeeled banana sticker, with the original withdrawn Emerson "torso" image upside down on the back cover [see more info] and company catalogue inner. The label is a large 't' blue & silver Verve design with 'Side 1' & '2' to the lower left [East Coast design] & hand scratched matrices in the run-offs. This is a wonderful one previous owner copy. The iconic sleeve displays some minor wear mostly to the edges & corners, and has some light foxing. A past owner has written their name neatly on the inside of the sleeve, but there are no deletion cuts or writing and the all-important banana remains unpeeled. The spine is clear as day & the panels remain a wonderful off white. The labels show just a couple of light spindle wear and the vinyl is a really nice and clean Excellent grading, with only very light signs of play. It is virtually impossible to find a withdrawn first issue copy of this album with an unpeeled banana. Highly Recommended V6-5008)

The label is a large 't' blue & silver Verve design with 'Side 1' & '2' to the lower left [East Coast design] & hand scratched matrices in the run-offs. This is a wonderful one previous owner copy. The iconic sleeve grades VG/VG+ as there is some foxing evident, a tiny area of paper loss to the bottom right-hand corner, a little corner-wear/sticker mark with minimal wear to the inner spread. However, there are no deletion cuts, no writing or creasing with the banana remaining unpeeled. The spine is clear as day & the panels remain a wonderful off white. The vinyl is superb. It is virtually impossible to find a copy of this album in any condition let alone one that shows almost no signs of play. Yes, there are some very faint hairlines in the odd area on close inspection but these are rendered purely cosmetic with the vinyl grading a healthy Excellent all round. Highly Recommended V6-5008)

The label is a large 't' blue & silver Verve design with the catalogue number and 'Side 'A' & 'B' to the lower left [West Coast design] & hand scratched matrices in the run-offs. The iconic sleeve grades 'VG-',there is some edge scuffing, fading to the reverse panel and a small split to the inner gatefold, the banana also shows some wear and has been re-stuck in a couple of sections - that's the downside! Otherwise the sleeve holds together well and, most importantly, still retains its iconic look. The vinyl grades Good. There are multiple hairlines, scuff marks & the odd scratch with some clicks/backround noise in some of the quiter sections, the louder sections [of which there are many - it's the Velvets!] sound really good. This is obviously a well loved copy of an album that rightfully holds legendary status in rock history. By no means mint, a 'banana' Velvet Underground LP is a prize collectable in any condition & should not be missing in any collection. Highly Recommended V6-5008)
