This was the second studio album, released on the 22nd October 1969. The first issue label features 'The Lemon Song' title, but following a claim of plagiarism levelled at Led Zeppelin [shock, horror!], this song had to be renamed to 'Killing Floor' and also credited to Chester Burnett. The Polydor press sleeves are a lighter brown in colour. The sleeve also credits 'The Lemon Song' and this was not changed for later issues.
The labels still list 'Copyright Control' publishing credits and have 'Produced by Jimmy Page' under the titles.
This second issue has corrected the 'Livin' Lovin' Wreck' error of the first issue and now reads 'Livin' Lovin' Maid (She's A Woman)', which is still wrong and was further corrected with the third Polydor imprint.
'Thank You' is still one word, which was also corrected with the third imprint.
The Side Two composer credits for Heartbreaker & Moby Dick still list 'Jones' rather than 'Baldwin'.
This second issue now has stamped, rather than scratched matrices.
Condition
The sleeves for the early issues are known for being easily damaged & worn while this one has general shelf/ringwear, discolouration with some creasing to the reverse at the opening edge. The vinyl has been reasonably well looked after with light signs of wear, graded VG.
An acceptable, if not mint, collection filler at a very advantageous price.
